Solana exchange-traded products hold SOL or use another disclosed structure so investors can obtain price exposure through brokerage accounts. Shares are securities issued by a trust or fund; they are not the same as SOL held in a self-custody wallet.
Current U.S. market
Multiple U.S.-listed Solana products began operating in 2025, including products whose filings describe staking. For example, the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF filing states that its shares began trading on October 28, 2025. Offerings, tickers, fees, staking policies, and listing status can change.
How fund exposure differs from holding SOL
- Investors own fund shares rather than controlling an on-chain private key.
- A sponsor and custodian manage the product's assets under its prospectus.
- Management fees and operating expenses reduce returns.
- Market price can differ from net asset value.
- Staking rewards, if used, are subject to the product's policies, service providers, liquidity needs, and expenses.
- Brokerage, jurisdiction, retirement-account, and tax treatment differs from direct token ownership.
Risks to review
SOL price volatility remains the primary market risk. Investors should also review custody, concentration, tracking error, staking liquidity, validator or service-provider exposure, regulatory changes, trading spreads, tax treatment, sponsor conflicts, and the possibility that shares trade when the underlying network or token markets do not.
Verify the current prospectus
Do not rely on an old comparison table or social-media summary. Use the issuer's current prospectus and SEC EDGAR filings to confirm what the product holds, whether and how it stakes, fees, creation and redemption mechanics, custody, risks, and tax disclosures.
